„The Future We Want, the United Nations We Need“, so lautet das Motto der Kampagne der Vereinten Nationen im Jahr 2020, an dem sich auch die DGVN mit diversen Formaten beteiligt. Angelehnt an dieses Motto haben wir am 26. Juni 2020 mit einer digitalen Auftaktveranstaltung den Startschuss für eine Reihe von digitalen Workshops gegeben. In diesen Workshops diskutieren wir, wie die Vereinten Nationen sich neuen Herausforderungen stellen können, um ihrem Anspruch als globales Friedensprojekt auch in Zukunft gerecht zu werden.

In dem letzten Workshop werden wir uns nun mit der Frage beschäftigen, wie Frieden und Gerechtigkeit zusammenhängen. Wie können die Vereinten Nationen und andere Akteurinnen und Akteure das Wissen um Menschenrechtsverletzungen besser nutzen, um Konflikte zu lösen, bevor sie eskalieren? Wie lässt sich Gerechtigkeit nach einem Konflikt (wieder-)herstellen, um den Weg für einen nachhaltigen Frieden zu ebnen? Der Workshop findet am 22. Oktober 2020 von 16:30 bis 17:45 Uhr statt, und Sie sind herzlich eingeladen, sich daran zu beteiligen.

Anmeldungen sind über das Onlineformular möglich. Ausgewählte Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer können sich außerdem beim Offenen Forum mit Wortbeiträgen zum Thema "Frieden und Gerechtigkeit” (Wo stehen wir? Was muss passieren? Worauf müssen wir bei der Prävention achten? Welche Möglichkeiten haben die Vereinten Nationen Gerechtigkeit zu fördern ?) einbringen. Dafür bitten wir, im Anmeldeformular auch die Rubrik “Mein Statement/Meine Idee” auszufüllen und Ihre Ideen stichwortartig zu skizzieren.

Nach der Registrierung übermitteln wir allen angemeldeten Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern die ZOOM-Einwahldaten per E-Mail. Bitte sehen Sie gegebenenfalls auch im Spam-Ordner nach. Die Veranstaltung findet in deutscher und englischer Sprache statt und wird gedolmetscht.

The fourth and last workshop in the series "The Peace We Want" on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the UN is dedicated to the connections between peace and justice and the possibilities of the United Nations to react to injustice and tosecure peace.

"The Future We Want, the United Nations We Need" is the theme of the United Nations campaign in 2020, in which the DGVN is also participating with various formats. Based on this theme, we launched a series of digital workshops on June 26, 2020 with a digital kick-off event. In these workshops we discuss how the United Nations can meet new challenges in order to continue to live up to its claim to be a global peace project in the future.

In the last workshop, we will now look at how peace and justice are intertwined. How can the United Nations and other actors make better use of knowledge about human rights violations to resolve conflicts before they escalate? How can justice be (re-)established after a conflict to pave the way for a sustainable peace? The workshop will take place on 22 October 2020 from 16:30 to 17:45 and you are invited to participate.

Registrations are possible via the online form. Selected participants can also register at the Open Forum with contributions on the topic "Peace and Justice". To do so, we ask you to fill out the section "My Statement/My Idea" in the registration form and to outline your ideas in keywords. Your input could address questions like: Where do we stand? What has to happen? What do we have to pay attention to in terms of prevention? What possibilities does the United Nations have to promote justice?

After registration we will send the ZOOM dial-in data to all registered participants by e-mail. Please also check your spam folder. The event will take place in German and English and interpretation will be provided.
