A Feminist Agenda for the Future

Datum: 30.09.2024
Uhrzeit: 14:00h - 18:30h
Ort: Berlin

UN Women Germany, the Embassy of Mexico and the UN Association of Germany warmly invite you to an international conference that will explore the feminist dimensions of key UN processes, including the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, the brand-new Pact for the Future and the Agenda 2030.

This International Conference provides an opportunity to present the latest analysis on progress made towards gender equality, also in the context of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Conference is taking place a week after the conclusion of the Summit of the Future (22-23 September 2024). This Summit is the culmination of a multi-year process to adopt a Pact for the Future for the United Nations. The International Conference will take stock whether the Pact for the Future is also a Feminist Agenda.

The Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action was adopted by 189 countries at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing. It is considered the key global policy document on gender equality. It sets strategic objectives and actions for the advancement of women and girls and the achievement of gender equality in 12 critical areas of concern. Ahead of the 30th anniversary, we want to examine which other topics should be considered, where gaps exist in the implementation, and which demands conference participants are bringing forward, in order to feed these into the political process.
